Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains what information Remnant collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Remnant mobile app and this website.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a basic profile and a verified email (which may be an Apple private-relay address). We store a hashed password only if you register with email and password.

Audio recordings and transcripts

When you record a teaching, the audio is uploaded to secure storage and transcribed. The transcript and the recording are associated with your account. Recordings are stored so you can return to them, and are never sold or shared with third parties.

Generated content

From your transcripts, Remnant generates scripture references, key insights, prayer points, action items, reflections and summaries. These are stored with your account.

Usage and device data

We collect app usage events, approximate performance and crash diagnostics, a device push token for notifications, and standard log data (such as IP address and request metadata) needed to run and secure the service.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe, purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive purchase and renewal status to unlock premium features; we do not receive or store your card details.

How we use your information

Your teaching content is processed to provide features for you. It is not sold, and not used to train third-party models beyond what is necessary to return your result.

AI processing

Transcription and analysis are performed using third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI and Google). Your audio and transcript text are sent to these providers solely to produce your transcript and summary. AI-generated insights may contain errors and should not be treated as authoritative.

Third-party services

We rely on the following processors:

Data retention

We keep your account data and content while your account is active. You can delete individual recordings at any time from the app. When you delete your account, your recordings, transcripts, generated content, preferences and billing history are removed. Residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten on our normal backup cycle.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your personal data, and opt out of marketing email. Delete your account from Settings → Delete account, or contact us at privacy@remnant.app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

Remnant is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
